In 1929 the town contained a school and five homes.

In 1883, it contained 28 homes and a population of about 150.

As of the mid-1980s, the community still contained several businesses and homes.

When completed in 2010, it is expected to contain 2,877 homes.

To the east is a smaller building in a similar style, containing 24 homes.

Much of the area contained second homes, so the beach was an active place.
