That slow release cycle isn't doing you any favors I think in the consumer world.
I also would add my voice to those who don't like the Chrome-style quick release cycle.

Thing is, some projects have too short of a release cycle.
It's the move to a more incremental, feature based release cycle.
The progression was clear: longer release cycles, more features.
Shorter release cycles would make that kind of development more difficult.
