We like Ike, but isn't there a piece of unfinished business about Sherman Adams and that coat?

A famous example of this principle is the political slogan "I like Ike."

"I like Ike" was an irresistible slogan; Eisenhower won a sweeping victory.

In the 50's, when America liked Ike, it loved Widmer Lake Niagara.

What a pity, everyone liked Ike.

Another is about a myna bird who kept repeating, "I like Ike."

LEAD: If Truman were alive today, he would have even more reasons not to like Ike.

Might the tall, thin man rise up and declare: We don't like Ike.

He likes Ike - or at least Eisenhower's powerful farewell speech - and he clearly doesn't like the current president, or at least his doctrine.
