After last season, he not only dropped five veterans, all over the age of 30, but also changed the defensive-line coach as well.

"No matter what, it always comes down to a running game," the Dolphins' defensive-line coach, Dan Sekanovich, said today.

"Their play will affect how the other team blocks them, and then it will help our ends," said the defensive-line coach, Larry Coyer.

Wally Chambers, the defensive-line coach told him: "You could do a lot of stuff in college because of you're size.

"We're definitely thinking about the run," said the Jets' defensive-line coach, Greg Robinson.

With Robinson's promotion, Carroll has filled one of the two coordinator positions and created an opening for a defensive-line coach.

Larry Coyer, the Jets' defensive-line coach, admitted that his players didn't do a good job in the fourth quarter.

He is also likely to promote Butch Davis, the Cowboys' defensive-line coach, to defensive coordinator.

He served under Chuck Noll as defensive-line coach, defensive coordinator and assistant head coach.

"What we're trying to do is find out as much as we can about all the players," said Earl Leggett, the defensive-line coach.
