Soon enough, though, Slum Village grabbed the mood and turned it, crashing onto the stage like the football team arriving at the keg.

The three formed a rap group called Slum Village.

The group would acknowledge this somewhat, on their following album, simply titled Slum Village, in 2005.

Originally, Slum Village intended Elzhi's presence on the album to be nothing more than a featured guest.

In July 2010, Elzhi officially announced his departure from Slum Village.
