On May 30, 1922, George Hermann, a millionaire, donated land to the city that later became the Hermann Park.

The zoo was later moved from Sam Houston Park to Hermann Park.

The terra-cotta colored stucco building, across the street from Mecom Fountain, rises above Hermann Park and the museum district.

Hermann Park is one of Houston's most-visited public parks.

The study identified many concerns for preserving and protecting Hermann Park, including a gap of 20,000 maintenance hours for the Park.

It is the tallest and most prominent building in Hermann Park, and is visible from the southeast throughout the Houston Zoo.

When it was created it had two parks, Hermann Park and Sam Houston Park.

Among these are the Museum District, and the adjacent Hermann Park and Rice University campus.

A bronze statue of the city's namesake was dedicated, and has been standing since September 2009 in the Hermann Park.

The current facility in Hermann Park was constructed in 1969.
