Good outcrops can be seen in the southern Funeral Mountains outside the park and in Butte Valley within park borders.

Thrusted areas can be seen at Schwaub Peak in the southern part of the Funeral Mountains.

There is also some evidence that the Grapevine Mountains may have slid off the Funeral Mountains.
