Most of it is called Beaujolais or, if it is a little better stuff, Beaujolais Villages.

There are 18 wines at $15 or less, including a Trimbach gewurztraminer at $14 and a Beaujolais Villages at $14.

Just as an aside, my own choice would be a case of the 1991 Beaujolais Villages for about a dollar a bottle more.

Beaujolais is the prime example, and not just simple Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages.

Look for the Beaujolais of Georges Duboeuf, particularly his Beaujolais Villages, which is always a good bargain.

But if they have Beaujolais Villages (1987) for $11, grab it.

Lighter red wines, like Beaujolais Village or Valpolicella, can be pale ruby, not much darker than the darkest rosé.

A tasty 1991 Beaujolais Villages is $15.

Moving on from wine spritzers and Beaujolais Village does not mean forsaking them forever.
