Analyses of Indian geranium oils indicated a similar phytochemical profile, and showed that the major constituents (in terms of % composition) were citronellol + nerol and geraniol.

Commonly referred to as Rosha or East Indian Geranium Oil, it is frequently used to adulterate rose oil due to the Indian oil's high concentration of geraniol and citronellol.
