The algae are of the phylum Chlorophyta or Cyanophyta.

Prochlorophyta lack red and blue Phycobilin pigments and have stacked thylakoids, making them distinctly different from Cyanophyta (Cyanobacteria).

Among the flora recorded are 417 species of trees, several species of orchids and species of medicinal plants; 179 species of phytoplankton belonging to Chorophyta, Cyanophyta, Bacillariophyta, Euglenophyta, Pyrrophyta and Chrysophyta have been observed in the lake as well.
