National Council for the Maltese Language

In 2005 the National Council for the Maltese Language was set up through a Law by the Maltese Parliament.

The National Council for the Maltese Language is a member of the EFNIL (European Federation of National Institutions for Language) in the EU.

The National Council for the Maltese Language (KNM) is the main regulator of the Maltese language (see Maltese Language Act, below) and not the Akkademja tal-Malti.
