Tranmere won promotion as Fourth Division runners-up in 1988-89.

He guided them to promotion as Second Division runners-up in 1961–62 .

In addition the men's tennis team also was national Division II runners-up.

They returned to the top division as Division Two runners-up in 1996-97.

In his time there, the team were relegated twice, in 1909-10 and subsequently re-promoted as Second Division runners-up.

In 1908 the club finished as Second Division runners-up and reached the First Division, but went back down again after just one season.

A mid-table finish was followed in 2003-04 by promotion as Division Three runners-up.

They were relegated again in 2002 to become Second Division runners-up the following year.

After several years of consolidation Ryde returned as Division 2 runners-up five years later, only to be relegated straight back again.

They rose to a mid-table finish in 1987-88, before winning promotion as Fourth Division runners-up in 1988-89.
