Their home, 25 Cromwell Street, where the remains of many of the victims were buried, was later demolished and a public walkway laid in its place.

Nine of the bodies were found buried in the garden, basement, walls and floors of the house in Cromwell Street.

The building at 25 Cromwell Street, called the House of Horror in the press, continued to exert its ghoulish spell.

"It's so shocking, you just don't expect something like this right on your doorstep," said Jackie Allen, pushing her year-old son down Cromwell Street.

A new pelican crossing has come into use at the junction of King's Road and Cromwell Street, North Ormesby.

Gloucestershire Police called too, seeking help on identifying the bodies found at Cromwell Street and elsewhere.

One result of this was the identification of Juanita Mott another of the victims discovered at Cromwell Street.

The majority of the murders occurred between May 1973 and August 1979 at their home in 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester.

The house at Cromwell Street (along with the adjoining property) was demolished in 1996.
