Several rille systems lie along the eastern side of this range.

By driving along the side of the rille it would be hard to miss their target.

To the southeast, beyond the rille, is the small crater Galilaei.

Three types of rille are found on the lunar surface:

A rille is a groove-like depression in the lunar surface.

The crater lies at the southern end of a rille that proceeds towards the north.

This is the largest sinuous rille on the Moon.

The rille has been the subject of numerous transient lunar phenomena observations.

A slender rille crosses the crater floor from north to south, passing to the east of the central peak.

To the northwest of Messier A is a long, narrow rille.

To the west of this peak is the Rima Bradley rille.

The crater is deeper than the rille, and lies at the bend where they intersect.

In the center of the walled plain is a narrow rille that runs toward the eastern rim.

To the west and southwest of this crater is a rille in the surface of the mare.

Moving on they travelled to the Rille.

To the east is a rille system named the Rimae Sirsalis.

Typically a rille can be up to several kilometers wide and hundreds of kilometers in length.

Scott decided to stop here as it met the original objective of Scarp which was to collect debris from near the rille.
