desmolase

A desmolase enzyme is one that catalyzes the formation or destruction of carbon-carbon bonds within a molecule.

Using this pathway, termed delta-5 pathway, the next step is conversion to dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) using a desmolase.

LH increases cholesterol desmolase activity (an enzyme associated with the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone), leading to testosterone synthesis and secretion by Leydig cells.
