Primed to ward off a Bolshevik onslaught against their brave Boris, the majority of the pro-Yeltsin demonstrators had little idea of the parliamentary struggle actually going on - that it required 689 votes to oust Mr. Yeltsin, but that 617 was not a great showing for the President.
