Businesses are failing to pull new mothers back to the workforce. We meet a group of women who want to stop the 'wasted talent' that results from trained, skilled women being denied jobs because they have children. Plus, we hear about the pitfalls of maternity leave for mums in the US, from Anne Hedgepeth who represents the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The economic cost of leaving out such a talent pool is being corrected in some instances by speed dating-style events, which put working mums and employers face to face for five minutes. And in China, we hear about instances when women of child-bearing age are never given jobs - unless they promise not to have children for the next decade, says social commentator and author Zhang Lijia.
